A 1-Day Clinical Training with Dr. Tammy Nelson
Friday, November 6, 2026 | 10:00 AM Central | 6 CEs (ASWB, NBCC, APA)
Join Dr. Tammy Nelson for a full day of clinical training on treating the sexual and intimacy concerns that trauma leaves behind. Whether the trauma at the root is sexual, relational, religious, medical, or the slow accumulation of moments that taught a client their body was not safe to want anything from, the downstream impact on intimacy is real. This training gives you a framework, a set of specific interventions, and a way to hold this piece of the work with skill instead of avoidance.
You'll walk away with:
- A working understanding of the sexual and intimacy concerns that most often accompany trauma, and how they show up in individual and couple functioning.
- A trauma-informed assessment approach for evaluating sexual concerns, relationship dynamics, and treatment readiness.
- Dr. Nelson's three-phase Integrative Relationship Therapy framework: Crisis, Insight, and Vision, and the specific interventions used in each phase.
- Named clinical interventions including the Sexual Appreciation Dialogue, the I Am self-identity exercise, sexual empathy work, integration exercises for compartmentalized erotic experience, body-based interventions for armoring and dissociation, and interoceptive inquiry techniques.
- A framework for working with intentional relationship agreements, including monogamy and consensual non-monogamy agreements.
- Language for recognizing and working with therapist bias, countertransference, and projection when sexuality enters the clinical room.
- 6 CE credits (ASWB, NBCC, APA).
- Live access on November 6, 2026 and on-demand access to the recording after the event.
